With a career spanning 25 years in the dynamic realm of retail, coupled with a robust 9-year tenure in the financial industry, I am Michael J Calderon, a seasoned professional with a passion for retail business and operations management.
My academic journey began at Cal Poly Pomona, where I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and Human Resources. Armed with a strong foundation in both the strategic and human elements of business, I mastered my skills and knowledge to embark on a successful career as a multi business owner.
Prior to my time at Cal Poly Pomona, I earned an Associate of Arts degree in Business Administration from Southwestern College. This early academic experience provided me with a comprehensive understanding of the foundational principles of business.
My commitment to excellence extends beyond academics to encompass my fraternity membership. As a proud member of Sigma Nu, I have embraced the values of leadership, integrity, and lifelong learning, which have consistently guided me throughout my professional journey.
In the retail sector, I have not only weathered but grown amongst the industry's evolving landscape for over two decades. My hands-on experience has covered various aspects, from customer service, sales, merchandising, training to inventory management, allowing me to develop a keen understanding of the intricacies that drive success in the retail environment.
Transitioning from the financial industry as a Agency Licensing Coordinator to retail, I brought a wealth of experience and a unique perspective to navigate the complexities of Commission base selling, licensing, hiring, employee benefits, training, and recruiting.
